Next up in our Maker’s Series is City Pop, a green tea Cream Ale, created by one of our brewers, Danielle!

Here’s Danielle on what inspired this beer: "My heritage, music, and beer. These three things have come together in harmony throughout my life, and now they get to physically meet in this beer, "City Pop". Inspired by and named after a popular 80's Japanese music genre, this music and beer incorporates Western styles with Japanese culture, invoking the feelings of bright lights and flavors, accompanied by mellow music and warm vibes. Blending the light crispness of a cream ale to the sweet and floral of a Japanese Iccha Kariban Green Tea, this beer will bring soft music to your taste buds. Sit down, enjoy people, and set the atmosphere with ‘City Pop’.”

To be honest, we think she nailed it. This beer is a beautiful blend of crispy cracker notes and sweet, floral, green tea notes. The use of Amarillo and Callista hops bring a touch of white peach, tangerine, and wildflowers. The green tea is present throughout with notes of citrus, marzipan, and fresh cut grass. With a clean, zippy carbonation this beer is the representation of what we mean when we talk about a drinkable beer. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Cheers!
